Naming themes? Input pleases
So after agonizing over names of characters for forever on a mystery dungeon writing, I looked for a common enough theme and now I think I've found some options, but I'm hoping for other peoples opinions
Why naming themes though? Shouldn't individuals have unique names to represent themselves for true artistry? Well... I suppose so... yes. HOwever, this is done for practicality, and for recognition. When you associate someone with something, it's both easier to recognize them, and it becomes symbolic. Because they have a common theme does not mean that names cannot represent them.
Now the issue... I had thought I struck a clever by music music genres (Jazz, Gospel, Polka) and dances (Waltz, Swing, Tango); but then I realized that I've seen this somewhere before. Unfortunately I cannot remember where, although I know it was not a published work; and 'borrowing' anything from other peoples original works bothers me very much.
I've thought of more, such as times (involving season names, days, and months); or other things such as art mediums (although this one would be strange); or even things like pastries.
Are any of those any good?

I liked the Berry theme you did as a joke a while ago.

? That one isn't a joke. I really do name my Pokemon in the main games after berries, so that just carries over to them in general. But they don't make suitable people names, which is the issue.
I'm confusing myself... x3

I like the naming after times scheme. How about naming characters after gemstones?

That's an excellent idea, however they seem like most are only suitable for the female gender. But then, so do most of the time ones aren't they? I've seen almost every month but March used as a name.

Really? You've met a girl named December?
