Garchomp

I don't understand Garchomp. It looks like a hammerhead shark, but it's ground/dragon-type.

According to the Diamond Pokedex: When it folds up its body and extends its wings, it looks like a jet plane. It flies at sonic speed.
According to the Pearl Pokedex: It flies at speeds equal to a jet fighter plane. It never allows its prey to escape.
According to the Heart Gold/Soul Silver Pokedex: Its body is covered in fine scales that reduce drag, enabling it to fly at high speeds.

The only flying-type move Garchomp can learn is Aerial Ace. It certainly cannot learn Fly or any other flight-based moves.

To be sure, that is silly. They've also never shown it attempting to fly in the anime, though I believe they have in the manga.

But disregarding that...

I've always believed that by flying, it meant 'really fast running.' Which is a definitely possible alternate meaning.


Or we could also point out that the pokedex is full of crap.
