Leaf+Sapphire

One day a little girl of a Chikorita trotted up to the favored hangout of a certain Espeon. 'Berries are tasty,' she began, 'and it's fun to go on adventures to find rare ones. You will come with me, won't you?'

I nod happily, "Sure! I'd love to!"

'Yay,' cheered the Chikorita, waving her forelegs about. 'Rare Watmel Berries grow on Mirage Island, but it's a pain to get to because it appears once in a blue moon. Whatever that is. Do you know anywhere else we can go to get rare Berries? I'm only familiar with Hoenn.'

I glance up to the sky, pondering, "Hmm... We could always steal the Berry Master's berries! He always has the best berries!"

'You mean follow Yip9's Berry route? That's a splendid concept. What is a concept?' The Chikorita suddenly looks very disoriented. 'Where are we?'

I look at her with a confused look, "Uh..." I'm too stunned to answer.

The Chikorita got smacked flat on her back for no apparent reason, got up, and got walloped out of nowhere again. She rolled to her feet and offered Sapphire a Persim Berry to save her from a similar fate. 'This is a map of Hoenn,' the Chikorita supplied, rolling it out in front of Sapphire, 'where on the map is your hangout?' She looked worried, 'We are in Hoenn, aren't we?'

Sapphire took the persim berry, "Uhm... I don't know..." she shudders.

'Uguu,' complained the Chikorita, looking a bit scared and upset. 'A Garchomp could come out of nowhere and eat us.'

Just then, a Garchomp appeared and advanced toward the lost pair.

I stare at the Garchomp, "Oh crap...!" I grab the Chikorita's leaf with my mouth and start to run as fast as I can.

'Wheee,' cheered the Chikorita, enjoying the ride.

The Garchomp caught up to them with no effort. There was no escape, however it did not immediately chow down or attack.

I set the chikorita down behind me, sheliding her with my body. I crouch down defensively, snarling up at the Garchomp, waiting for it to make an attack, "W-well? What are you waiting for?"

'There's no need to defend me,' squeaked the Chikorita. 'If Mr. Garchomp wanted to eat us he would have done so already.'

'You're quite right,' agreed the Garchomp. 'I do like to eat plants, especially those that walk and talk.'

'Eeeeeeeeeeek!' the Chikorita cowered bravely.

Deliberated the Garchomp, 'I heard you discussing berries, however. Those are simply delectable and I'm letting you go in the hope that you'll bring me some.'
