Lava Cookie

(Hey Firfir, Since I started up a Lina meets Myukou topic, would you please start up a Yip9 meets Myukou topic?)

A Skitty stands on the crest of an overhanging cliff, below which lies a fountain of lava. 'Where did this come from?' she asks herself. 'Lina was just walking up a hill, when the scene changed to this.' She mews and puffs out her tail. 'Maybe if I just go back.' Upon turning around she is met with a pack of Houndoom and Mightyena. They block her way back down the cliff and bark sharply. 'Lina's a bit scared,' mutters the Skitty, 'but maybe their bark is worse than their bite. Let's play!' Lina runs straight at the wolf-like Pokemon and aims to jump over them, but they Tackle her to the ground. She flips upright and pulls out a bow notched with three arrows. 'I never miss!' she declares, 'Triple Spark!' The arrows whoosh into the pack of wolf-like creatures and shock them with electricity, but apparently this isn't enough to drive them away, as they advance with harsh barks and bared fangs.

Behind the ferocious pack of Mightyena and Houndoom, Lina can see an Eevee and a Pikachu walking up the slope. 'Please help me,' she meows.

The two notice the Skitty in trouble and quickly start up the hill to help her. The Pikachu dashes towards her seeing the Houndoom and the Mightyena. He fires off a strong electric thunderbolt at the crowd hoping to pick out the leader and get him the hardest with the blast. He lands with his long black hair following him onto the ground and gives off a smirk at them and makes a hand motion that amounts to "bring it on."

Behind him is the Eevee watching the whole thing, not really able to do anything. She waits for the dog packs to divert their attention from the Skitty and to Kaiyu, so that she would be able to help the Skitty out with anything if she needed it. At least she could probably do that.

Kaiyu's Thunderbolt shakes the wolf pack up pretty well and the focus of the blast brings down a big Mightyena. The Mightyena and Houndoom split forces, the Houndoom turning on the Pikachu and the Mightyena forcing the attack on the Skitty. The Houndoom systematically attack Kaiyu with breath of Flamethrower and teeth of Crunch while the Mightyena cease threatening the Skitty and begin to directly attack her. Lina stands her ground, disallowing her attackers to move her toward the cliff edge. The Mightyena rely on close range attacks which allow Lina to shoot her arrows at point-blank range. This is all that's keeping Lina from being completely overwhelmed, but still this is the closest the desperate Skitty has ever been to being eaten alive.

Kaiyu tries to dodge the attacks of the Houndoom's doing acrobatics in the air moving from place to place to avoid their flames and claws. During he move he lets out some electricity at a random time trying to hit them off one by one by one by one. Unlike the Skitty he isn't afraid and his movements show that. He glides smoothly as if it were nothing to him.

Myukou watches the two battles and after noticing their feelings through their body movements she decides to run towards the Skitty to try to help her.

Kaiyu is managing to avoid most of the Houndoom's moves and making about half of them faint. They are very surprised that a mere Pikachu is doing so well against them. Since most of the meat eaten by Houndoom are small targets, they don't understand for a Pikachu, being hard to hit more than makes up for being able to take hard hits well. The Houndoom synchronize their moves in an effort to trap the Pikachu with their Flamethrower or edge close enough to Crunch him in two, but to no avail. Kaiyu is free to continue unscathed.

Since the Houndoom are consumed by their battle with the Pikachu, they do not see the Eevee run past them to aid the Skitty. The Mightyena are about to make Lina faint. When they notice Myukou run up, four of them surround her and make as if to ingest her on the spot. Although much weakened, upon seeing this Lina rolls out of a Mightyena's grip and nocks her bow. 'Arrows are shot as if a shooting star. Spiral Arc!' A quartet of arrows and a spinning column of green light force the Mightyena away from Myukou. Then two of the Mightyena next to the Skitty double check her with Take Down, and she's taken down for the count.

Myukou watches this as it happens, sad. While she is grateful for being defended she hates the idea that someone would risk their own health to save her. She was worth nothing and almost anyone would be worth more than her. Worse off she wasn't going to be able to fight them off like the Skitty could have. Still she tries to advance to the Skitty and when she gets near she grabs her and starts dragging her along the ground as fast as she can. She is sadly not strong enough to be able to carry the thing and has to resort to this. Kaiyu who is too busy in his battles doesn't pay any attention at all to Myukou or the Skitty just focusing on kicking more and more Houndoom butt.

Descending from a cloud where it had been floating, a Wigglytuff lands. Now the Mightyena are in a prime position to gobble up both Lina and Myukou, but the 'tuff is quicker. 'For this you probably want to stick with your friends, buddy,' the Wigglytuff suggests, grabbing the Pikachu in mid-air and tossing him over to where the Eevee and the Skitty are among the Mightyena. The 'tuff stands between the zone where the Houndoom were battling Kaiyu and the zone where the Mightyena were battling Lina and uses Fissure. The cliff is chopped clean away from the rest of the land and the lava rises up to fill the gap, isolating the cliff like an island. The Mightyena forget about fighting or eating and howl in pure agony, not from physical pain but from being separated from the other half of their pack. The Wigglytuff takes pity on them and boots them all to the mainland. 'Luck to you, Pika-thingy and company,' encourages the Wigglytuff before floating away.

Myukou watches the whole thing again surprised about how and why fate did that. After being rested back on the main land. She taps KAiyu on the shoulder who finally got distracted from his butt kicking. Kaiyu turns to her and she quickly points to the injured SKitty. Kaiyu understands right away and quickly rushes towards her and picks her up. Once he has her he quickly makes the dash off towards where safety would be. Myukou follows behind as fast as she can, hoping that the pack would just leave them alone.

The Mightyena are so glad to be reunited with their Houndoom partners that they leave off the hunt and wander about their merry way. Lina is dreaming about a certain genteel Vaporeon. 'I feel like we are roommates in an alternative universe,' she whispers in her sleep.

Neither pay attention to her sleep talk and go to a poke center. They check her into the pokecenter and soon enough she is cured and they turn to her. Kaiyu asks her, "Are you all right?"

The Skitty spins her tail. 'Lina's fine! Lina had a nice dream about a fluffy Vaporeon. I think her name's Fiaa. Do you guys know her? And what happened to all the Mightyena? Eevee, I'm glad you're still alive! Did you like my Spiral Arc? And who are you, Pikachu? Hey, that rhymes!'

'As you can see, the patient is quite back to normal,' assures a Chansey.

'Are you sure you didn't insert some happy juice?' questions another Chansey.

Kaiyu nods, "yes we know her. As for the Mightyena its a long story, let's just say that they're long gone. As for who I am, I'm Kaiyu."

Myukou nodded at the Skitty's question and then just watched her seeing whatever she'd do.

They walk out of the Pokemon Center into a clover field and the Skitty introduces herself. 'I'm Lina! Thanks for taking care of me. Let's go do something together. Hey Eevee, would you like to pick Pecha Berries, learn archery, or search for Applecots?'

Myukou just nods and softly mutters the word, "Archery." She walks over to the Skitty slowly and starts to inspect the bow.

The bow is crafted of fine yew wood and strung with a green vine cord, which Lina describes as 'This is slumber ivy. It's strong enough to hold fortresses together, yet fine and elastic. It's perfect for bows. I've heard if you get hit with it too hard you'll fall asleep and I wouldn't eat it except as emergency rations.'

Lina places the bow in Myukou's paws and shows her how to nock an arrow, then the correct formation to pull back the ivy and fire.

Myukou pays good attention to what Lina is doing and then tries out the bow for herself. She does everything correctly but due to her lack of muscles her firing of the bow is worse than Lina's and has much to be desired. After the failure she sighs and falls down to the ground in disappointment.

'Wowie,' meows Lina, impressed. 'You're really good for a beginner. Are you sure you haven't done this before? Your form was perfect. You just need a lighter bow. I have some at my pad. Would you like to come over? But we have to stop and pick Pecha Berries on the way. Please?'

Myukou would smile at the compliment but she believes that it is false and just sighs instead. She gets up from the ground and nods at the Skitty's request. From there she starts to follow wherever the Skitty decides to go.

'Oh,' says Lina, noticing where they are, 'This is a clover patch. Maybe we can find a rare four-leaf clover here. It brings good luck. They say it even works for love. Maybe it's a waste of time, as my luck is good, I never miss, after all, and I'm not in love.' Little pink ovals appear on the Skitty's off-white cheeks. 'Mostly.'

Lina leads Kaiyu and Myukou above the clovers and across a grassland. Along the way are three Pecha plants, each bearing three Pecha Berries. 'Yay!' mews the Skitty happily. 'Free fruit for friends.' She picks two and chomps them, attaching one to her ear. 'This is for later, tee hee.'

Kaiyu goes up to one of the plants and takes the pecha barries and eats them. Myukou however figures they'd be better off for someone else and just spends her time staring out to the sky above.

They continue their walk, but before they get very far two mole Pokemon pop out. 'Diglett, diglett,' they cry, knocking Lina and Myukou into the air, from where they drop and land flat on their faces. Lina wants to see how Mr. Pikachu will deal with this, thinks the Skitty.

Right as the Diglett attacks, KAiyu notices and quickly gets under Myukou and catches her. Once he puts her down he runs towards the Diglett on all fours and launches himself at them with a skull bash.

The Diglett Kaiyu hits goes skidding through the soil, finally stopping with a dazed expression. Both Diglett pop underground. Not bad, Kaiyu, thinks Lina.

Kaiyu waits for the Digglet's waiting for his time to attack and when they pop back up and quickly bushed straight into them.

One of the Diglett gets smacked hard, but the other pops up under Kaiyu for a super effective Dig.

'Lina's counting on Kaiyu; keep it up!' cheers the Skitty.
