Drovak and Leaf

The Cubone stares off into the sun, its intense brightness blinding his eyes. He would never get there, he would never be as bright at that sun. To him it seemed that spot would forever be claimed by his best buddy Rosran. He was just another dreamer waiting for the chance to be something more than the worthless shell that he was. (Remind you of someone?) He sighed and looked forward waiting for the Chickorita that actually for some weird reason wanted to play with him. He hoped deeply in his mind that he would be able to satisfy her.

Leaf trots up to the sun-staring Cubone. 'Aren't Sunny Days lovely? Are you Drovak? My trainer Yip9 had a dream about Cubone but couldn't find his, so I thought I'd go play with one. Let's have a great time together. Are you thinking of any special fun ideas?'

Drovak nods and continues to stare at the sun. "Yes, they are nice." Then he sighs, "Sadly I'm not the best at coming up with ideas of what to play. My friend Rosran is much better than me, he usually has all the ideas of what we should do. Not that mine matter much anyway."

'I say we bask in the sun while eating berries. First we have to pick them, which is great fun. Come along,' she ushers him off to -

The Cubone just nods and follows the Chickorita along her path looking all around the place at the plants and the life that surrounded them all curious about it. He wondered and wondered, if they were lonely too?

Leaf suggests, 'Don't the plants look happy? As long as there's adequate rainfall, plants will feel lively on a Sunny Day.'

They pass by a threatening-looking Shiftry. 'Grumble grumble~' it greets.

'I'm not a tasty little seed thrower,' explains Leaf. 'Dots tastes better.'

'Grumble?' it asks, then turns away from them and continues basking in the sun.

Leaf continues to lead the way merrily. 'Let me know if you see any berry trees.'

(The correct spelling of the Johto first-form grass-type is Chikorita. There's only one 'c' in the word.)

(Dots is the name of the Seedot you can trade for in Emerald.)

Drovak nods in argeeal and continues to look for some plants that contain berries, sadly he is unable to find any and blames himself.

Leaf searches around, eventually finding a bush containing some Durin Berries. She harvests the fruit and gives some to Drovak. 'Let's try these,' she suggests brightly, munching two with a connoisseur's style. 'What do you think of the taste?'

Drovak takes the two berries and noms on them savoring their taste. He gives a little nod and replies to tell her, "They're good."

'Yay~' chirps Leaf, waving her forelegs about. 'Do you want to find more berries or bask in the sun?'

"I'll bask in the sun," he quietly replies staring up into the sun.

'Okay~' agrees Leaf happily. The petite grass-type assumes a formation where the sun shines its brightest on all her neck-buds. She angles her head-leaf to engage in ultimate chlorophyll.

Drovak lays on his back and stares up into the sky with open eyes and sad tears under the bone. It can't be said why he had them, for some reason they just seemed to form and they were there. And that was it.

'Uuuu-wiii~' is Leaf's pleased tone on feeling her cells receive nutrition from the Sunny Day. 'This is almost as fun as eating berries. You have good taste, Drovak. Are you having fun too?'

Drovak nods but his mind disagrees with it. He doesn't want to upset the smiling leaf girl and he wants her to continue to be happy like the sun instead of wallowing in the rain like him. He didn't want to make others sad but he was cursed to be himself. Oh sigh.

'I'll share another fun thing with you,' offers the joyful leafy lass. 'Won't you please lie down?' Hee hee, that sounds almost like a formal invitation.

Drovak doesn't know what she'd do but because he's lonely and he figures that there's nothing to lose from the action he lays his body down on his back and waits for her.

Leaf skips over to the reclining Cubone, gently places her smooth light saurian forefeet on the Cubone's midsection, and proceeds to give him a tummy rub.

The Cubone smiles at this rubbing and he starts to purr at the wonderful sensation that is gathered from the moving of her forelegs along his belly. He wiggles along a little bit out of reflex but tries to stay still for the grassy girl hoping that she was enjoying this like he was.

'See Mr. Cubone, doesn't it feel nice?' asks the Chikorita in rhetorical glee, continuing to massage Drovak's midsection.

The Cubone gives a shy slight nod and a tiny little smile that if you were looking hard enough you'd be sure to notice. He continues to purr at the sensation keeping his actions around the same as before.

A pair of nefarious Mareep charge the pair. One pounces on the Chikorita, knocking her away and proceeding to chase her around, eliciting squeals of protest. The other commences bouncing on Drovak's stomach.

'Help, Drovak,' requests the Chikorita in a squeaky voice.

Drovak hears the cries of the Chickorita and quickly tries to push the Mareep off of his body. Since he wasn't that strong he couldn't really force it to stop jumping but he had another idea. He quickly used his tail to start digging underground. He went lower and lower into the ground and pounced out of the ground under the other Mareep threatening Leaf.

The Mareep that was bouncing on the Cubone's tummy falls into the hole he has dug and bleats in scared surprise. Drovak's Dig sends the Mareep chasing Leaf rolling across the ground in a baaaa of dismay. Leaf hears the cries of the pitted sheep and extends her forelegs into the hole in an effort to pull it out. The holed Mareep grabs a hold and pulls Leaf into the pit.
